Almond Chicken Garlic Rice

What can one possibly do if suddenly you are home alone and a bunch of guests come unannounced. Well here is a simple recipe of traditional and rich dish. Wherever we go, rice is considered to be the favorite meal of Pakistani, Indian and Bengali people. So here is an easy dish with aroma so rich that it will definitely kill your guests with hunger pangs.

Ingredients

The things that you are going to need for this recipe are:

  • Cooking oil…………………………………four tablespoons
  • Onion………………………………………..one large-sized (finely chopped)
  • Boneless chicken……………………….half kg
  • Ginger/garlic paste..…………………..one tablespoon
  • Peas…………………………………………half kg (boiled)
  • Carrots……………………………………one to two carrots (finely chopped and boiled)
  • Black Pepper……………………………one teaspoon
  • Salt………………………………………..two teaspoon
  • White Pepper………………………….one teaspoon
  • Roasted almonds…………………….half bowl
  • Water…………………………………….three glasses
  • Chicken Powder…………………….One teaspoon
  • Basmati Rice…………………………two glass
  • Lemon juice…………………………two tablespoon

Method

  • Take a cooking pan and heat the oil in the cooking pan.
  • Add onions in the cooking pan and fry them until they turn golden brown.
  • Add boneless chicken and fry it for a few minutes.
  • Add ginger/garlic paste and fry it for few more minutes.
  • Add the boiled vegetables and fry it.
  • Add black pepper, salt, white pepper, half of the roasted almonds and stir for a few seconds.
  • Add the water and bring it to boil.
  • Add chicken powder and then add rice.
  • Add lemon juice, stir the rice and then cover the pan.
  • Let the water dry, remove the cover and sprinkle the remaining almonds on the top.
  • Stir the rice and steam them for 10 minutes.

Serve while hot with podina ki chutney or tomato and garlic sauce.
